The program conducted on behalf of the Stirling Parish was held as a result of an urgent need to increase giving. Committed income had dropped due to deaths and some folk moving elsewhere.
The then Rector the Rev’d John Stephenson asked Ron Cameron, to conduct a program on behalf of the parish. The Awareness or Preparatory Visit and Meeting took place toward the end of the year and the Planned Growth Mission was held following Easter.
Fr John attributed the success to the manner in which the program was conducted saying "Planned Giving Counsellors helped us lift our sights and increase our giving through some clear and direct teaching".
Prior to the Planned Growth Mission the weekly pledged total was $1,490 per week.”
The new level of committed giving recorded at the end of the Intensive Phase was a little over $3,000 per week.
