Catholic Planned Giving Programs in Sydney & Brisbane
The Rev’d. Gerard O'Dempsey OFM Cap (currently in the USA)
“I have engaged the services of PGC on two occasions and have found them to be most helpful in reinvigorating parish giving programs.
On both occasions not only was the giving improved but more importantly a deeper sense of community has evolved.
It has been wonderful to see the transformation in people who have come forward and have been able to use their gifts and talents to build up the parish community. I highly recommend the services of PGC. “
One program led to another. The first was on behalf of the Good Shepherd Parish, Plumpton. A very large and busy parish in the western suburbs of Sydney. The main challenge facing Good Shepherd at the time was the building of a parish centre and presbytery. Fr. Gerard, as Parish Priest, led a very committed team in meeting the needs of such a diverse Catholic community.
The other program with Fr. Gerard was for Guardian Angels Parish at Wynnum in Brisbane. A smaller but vital parish consisting of two Mass centres. Their major need was about extending minsitry and mission and renovations to the Wynnum church.
Both parishes had a Thanksgiving Celebration. At Plumpton it took the form of an open air gathering over lunch on the Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend in the grounds of the Seminary. At Wynnum the Thanksgiving Dinner was more traditional being held in the parish hall.
